Biography

1888 Paul was born in Warsaw, Poland on 27 November.[1]

1912 Paul immigrated from Poland.[2]

1914 There is a listing in the "Orphan's Court - Philadelphia, Marriage License Index - 1885 to 1916" for a "Pawel Zientak" who married "Byk" in 1914; marriage license #306828. This license number corresponds with the listing in his wife's name.[3]

1920 Paul and Julia are living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They have two children: Sabina (4) and Joseph (3). The record indicates that Paul immigrated to the US in 1912 and that both of his parents were born in Poland. If you look at the image of the census listing, you can see that there is a boarder in the same dwelling # by the name of George "Zientak" who also immigrated from Poland in 1912. Could this be a brother?[2]

1940 Paul became a naturalized citizen of the United States on 27 November, his birthday. He lists his age as 50, but according to his WWII draft record in 1942, he was born in 1888, which would make him 52.[4] He is listed as "Paul Zantok" in the 1940 US Census. He and his family are living in Tylersport, Pennsylvania which is part of Salford Township in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. There are five children in the household: "Sabena" (a.k.a. Sabina) (23), Joseph (22), Stella (19), Walter (14)[5] and Helen (12).[6]

1942 On 27 April, Paul registered with United States World War II Draft in Upper Darby, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. He lists his residence as Marlborough Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. His wife's name is Julia Zintak, and he is employed by Style's Furniture Factory in Green Lane, Pennsylvania. His physical description is given as 5' 7" and 134 pounds with blue eyes, gray hair and a light complexion. He lists "W." as his middle name and follows that with a comment: "initial only."[1]

1976 Paul died on 22 January and is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in East Greenville, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.[7][8]
