Biography

Genoa Samuel Zollinger is the son of George Zollinger and Bertha Kuhnhenn. Genoa married Ellen Howe on Oct 27, 1922 in Boulder, Colorado and they had nine children. His wife Ellen died in 1934 after the birth of their last child from complications. [1]

GENOA ZOLLINGER
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Chapel of the Angels for Genoa Zollinger, 68, prominent long-time Lakewood contractor and Realtor, who died Sunday at his home, 6900 W. 16th Ave. He had been ill several years with emphysema and a heart condition. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery at Loveland.
Zollinger, who was in the contracting business numerous years and built most of the homes in Lakewood Square, where he lived. He retired from contracting in 1953, when he became ill.
Past president of the Jefferson County Board of Realtors, he also was a volunteer member of Lakewood Fire Dept. many years and was nemed an honorary member of the volunteers. He was associated with numerous Masonic organizations, including Rocky Mountain Consistory El Jebel Shrine, past commander of Ascalon Commandery, high priest of Jefferson Royal Arch, past master of Lakewood Lodge No. 170, AF&AM, past commander of Jefferson Commandery, past master of Denver Council No. 1 and member of K.Y.C.H.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by the following children: Shirley Chastain of Ooltewah, TN; Betty Ashlock of Portland, OR; Glen of Collegedale, TN, Leland of Concord, TN, Robert and Edwin of Dayton, TN and Beecher of Kansas City, KS. Another son George, was killed in a bulldozer accident in 1963 in Virginia. Also surviving are a brother, Whitcomb, of Dayton, TN and 19 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted in Loveland by Lakewood Lodge No. 170, AF&AM. Friends who wish may contribute to the Shrine Hospital for Crippled Children, 1614 Welton St., in care of Galen Swank.
