Research Notes
The Josef Hefner/Johann Bayer "Ortssippenbuch-Tschatali-Csatalja," a German genealogy Family Book (OSB) for the Hungarian village of Csatalja (called “Tschatali” in German) INCORRECTLY cites Anne Marie Demerle as the wife of a Joseph Bauholzer, showing them married at Csatalja in 1755, as follows:
“Bauholzer, Josef, born April 27, 1729 in Wellendingen, died Mar 6, 1799 80 years old, Conscription List in 1764/123 [page 123], son of Bonus Bauholzer and Bona Maria Hagen.
Married first: 3 February 1755 Demerle, Anna Maria, young widow of Georg Zuck, born 14 August 1731 in Walschbronn, died 13 February 1779, daughter of Peter Strassel and Anna Ottila Strassel. Married second: 4 May 1779, Kemple, Susanne, widow/maiden, born about 1759.
List of children: seven with Anna Maria, who died 13 Feb 1779, one with Susanne Kemple His last child in 1791 at age 62.

The Josef Hefner/Johann Bayer Tschatali-Csatalja OSB (CD 2002), is a secondary source - a family book that cites both primary sources and other OSBs. The (Wittmer) "Walschbronn Parish Registers" is a primary source, while the (Hutfluss) "Stanischitsch OSB" is a secondary source, hopefully supported by primary sources. Neither is available online at Family Search, but print copies are in German libraries and the LDS/Salt Lake library.
The likely explanation for the mistake is that the author of the "Ortssippenbuch-Tschatali-Csatalja," family book identified “Anna Maria NN” (last name not known) in the Hungarian records as Anna Maria Demerle of Walschbronn by associating the name of Anna NN’s first husband, Jean George Zuck, with the Walschbronn family of Jean-George Ulrich Zuck who did move to Tschatali (Csátalja), and did have a son named Johan Georg Zuck, born there in 1758. After checking the Walschbronn records, the author found Anna Maria Demerle Zuck, married to a Johann Zuck to fill the Anna Maria “NN” gap. Unfortunately, Anna Maria Demerle’s husband at Walschbronn is named "Jean" [or Johann in German], not “Johann-Georg,” and in fact, Jen Zuck had a brother Johann-George Zuck (not the one who migrated to Hungary), born in 1730, who married Catherine Backscheider. Thus, the author identified the records of Anna Maria Demerle’s Walschbronn birth and marriage, but missed (or excluded) her children’s births, and her death date in 1802, as well as her husband Jean Zuck's death date in 1800, which can readily be seen in the records and confirmed in the Walschbronn church records and the French civil authority records.
The German Genealogy web site “Genealogy.net” issues a similar warning about the claimed marriage of Anne Marie Demerle and Joseph Bauholzer in the “Ortssippenbuch-Tschatali-Csatalja’: “This couple cannot be identical with Johann Zuck who married at Walschbronn January 31, 1747 Anna Maria Demerlé, as they had eleven children baptized in Walschbronn between 1748 and 1771; among others on 08/05/1752 and 01/19/1754.
