Biography

Volga German
Eva (Zulauf) Meisner is a Volga German.
Eva (Zulauf) Meisner has German Roots.

Eva Katherina Zulauf was born on 25 Aug 1854 in Grimm, Volga, Russia to Johann Jakob Zulauf and Maria Katharina (Unknown) Zulauf. The family can be found in Grimm census records: Family #40 in the 1857 Grimm census.[1]

She married Christian Jacob Meisner around 1872 most likely in Grimm at the age of 18. They had a total of ten children.[2]

The family immigrated to America via S.S. Columbia arriving at Ellis Island on 19 Oct 1908 where they were detained for five days due to requirement of doctor certification. They sailed with their son Alexander and his family along with Jacob and Eva's teenage children. The two families were bound for Fort Collins, Colorado to be with Jacob and Eva's other son Christian Jacob Meisner, Jr.

The families were farm laborers answering the call for Colorado German-Russian beet laborers. The Meisner families can be found in census records together.

Eva Katherina Meisner died at age 70 in 1924 in Fort Collins, Colorado and is buried in the Grandview Cemetery.
