Biography

Marthinus de Vries was the owner of a pharmacy in Cape Town from October 1878 until shortly before his death; in fact, in 1905 the business was still registered in his name.[1] [2]

When Marthinus Christaan Terrence de Vries was born in 1852, his father, Barend, was 22 and his mother, Maria, was 27. He married Elizabeth Wilhelmina Cornelia Vos on August 2, 1876.
