Hi James,

I haven’t heard back from you about the break up of the United Kingdom Project. I hope all is well with you. I assume you don’t wish to join any of the country-level projects at present, and will go ahead and remove the United Kingdom badge. If you wish to join England, Scotland, Wales or Ireland in the future, you would be most welcome to do so via the respective G2G sign-up post.

Many thanks for all your contributions,

Susie :-)

Hi James,

We realise the time has come to dissolve the UK Project in favour of the individual country projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

We are checking in with all UK badge holders to find out which country project(s) you would like to be in so you can collaborate with other members, have the opportunity to select which team(s) you would like to join, and so we can ensure you have all the correct badges.

Please respond by PM to let us know which country project(s) you would like to be in. Please don’t assume we know. We are effectively starting from scratch to make sure no one falls through the cracks.

Once you have done this, the Coordinator for Membership in the relevant country project(s) will be in touch to help get you situated.

Many thanks,

Susie

Hello James, I understand you are upset that Roland de Velville has been disconnected from Henry VII as his son, and certainly when long held genealogical beliefs are challenged this can be upsetting. However the evidence on the profile is firmly of the opinion that there was no such relationship and as part of the WikiTree honour code is about accuracy they have been disconnected.

If as you say on the profile you have evidence that Henry VII recognised Roland as his son, please post it as a comment on the profile, or as a G2G question and then it can be evaluated and the profiles be reconnected. Thank you

James, I saw your note on Tom Hanks. Unfortunately all living people are now Unlisted by policy. Here are some discussions where you can contribute:

Hi James, Thanks for adding the Cymru tag to your profile. I've therefore added the UK Project badge too and your name to the members interests page/list on both !!

Welcome to the UK and Cymru Welsh Royals and Aristocrats Projects.

Hi James, Several of the duplicates you have created are not a result of you entering the same twice, but are duplicates of an existing profile created by another manager. It is important that you check for existing profiles before creating new ones. If your ancestor already exists on Wikitree then all you need to do is connect up the correct relationship.

If there are any duplicates on my profile then sorry for the mistake. In my defense, when they were entered there was some sort of glitch or slowness of my internet connection. I suppose that I entered it over again. I will avoid this in the future

Thanks

Hi James,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Welcome James!

Since you confirmed as a full member I am happy to welcome you to the WikiTree community! To help save you time, energy and frustration, please start with our New Member How-To pages.

Click the green Tag on your profile page, you'll see others following the same things you are researching. The more Tags you add that include locations, periods of history or other genealogical interests, the more links to the community research options.

Please ask if you have any questions as I am always happy to help!

Cindy ~ WikiTree Greeter

PS If you ever get a "Page Not Found" error when you click a link in a WikiTree email, you can usually find a functioning link in the public comments section of your profile page.
