As pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. To learn more about joining the community in How To #3 & in the Project FAQ.

Please ensure location data matches date of profile, avoid abbreviations add citations & links for sources to enable verification. From wiki ID go to Research to find sources

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one to fit your research focus, a time period, location. Read the goals & tasks of the project, join if it fits.

Did you know that if you click the green tags on your profile page, you can see if other members are following that tag. Add your interests, surnames, or locations to your profile. The more tags you add the more links to community & research options.

Once you add profiles to WikiTree they become searchable and in my experience persons interested in these profiles will contact you and may provide further information to expand your family tree.
