The story of Jessie's marriage to Harold Walker is told by Harold Walker in his Harold Walker Story p.1, uploaded to Ancestry by his granddaughter Sherry.

"After we had been there (Pecos County Texas) about 5 years, I saw the Bonine's wagon come by with Jessie and her folks. Later we would take our wagon with the sideboards on and pick up all the boys and girls and go to church or a party. Later Jessie and I got better acquainted and began to go together. Jesse used to ride a donkey to school at Imperial Texas. When her folks decided to move to Arkansas, we thought we would never see each other again, so we decided to elope. A young couple took us to Jega to catch the train to Ft. Stockton. We had a flat tire and we missed the passenger train so we caught the freight train and rode in the caboose with the conductor. We arrived in Ft. Stockton after dark and the sherif ask us where we were going. We said to the Camica hotel, so he took us to the hotel in his model T Ford. The hotel manager called the Christian minister, and when he arrived we got married. The minister and his wife were the witnesses. After a year married, Livera was born. We lived in a one room house with a dirt floor until we could build us a nice two room house. We felt like we had a mansion. We had a bed, two chairs, a stove, and a table. It doesn't take things to make a home. It takes LOVE. You have to learn to say I'm sorry. Marriage is like a garden. It must be cultivated or it doesn't grow. The winter we ran out of water for the crops, we moved to Anthony Kansas. While there, our second child was born. Jessie was raised in the Church of God. I had never been in one. They were having a revival. I went to church and gave my heart to the Lord." https://www.ancestry.com/mediaui-viewer/collection/1030/tree/71942149/person/48262765788/media/9b99602e-df7f-4be2-84c7-d0dfcd2d3a3c?_phsrc=yrv72180&usePUBJs=true&galleryindex=12&sort=-created
