Biography

Joseph was born in 1827. He was the son of Antoine Azure and Charlotte Pelletier. He passed away in 1904.

Joseph Azure married Angelique Martel.[1] Their children included:[2]

Gabriel Azure was born on 5 Jan 1879 St.Peter's Mission, Montana Territory (SPMT , page 118, #2509.). He was baptized on 5 Jan 1879 St.Peter's Mission, Montana Territory (#2509, Gabriel Azure, born and baptized 5 January 1879, son of Joseph Azure and Angelica Martil, Sponsors, Gabriel Beauchmin and Margaret Azure, Rev. Urban Grassi, S.J. (page 118)) (SPMT , page 118, #2509.). He died on 19 Oct 1960 Sweet Grass County, Montana, at age 81 (MT Death  Montana State Genealogical Society Death Index.).

In the 1870 census Joseph (age 40) was the head of household in Pembina, Pembina, Dakota Territory, United States.[3][4][5]

Joseph's son Joseph Azur married Alaise Beaugrand on 29 December 1873 in Sacred Heart, Lebret, Saskatchewan, Canada.[6]

Joseph's daughter Ambroise Azur was baptised on 31 January 1876 in Sacred Heart, Lebret, Saskatchewan, Canada.[7]

In the 1880 census Joseph (age 50), Laborer, was the head of household in Mission, Park, Montana, United States.[8]

In the 1889 census Joseph (age 62) was a father in North Dakota, United States.[9]

In the 1899 census Joseph (age 63) was the head of household in Devils Lake, Ramsey, North Dakota, United States.[10]

In the 1900 census Joseph (age 73) was the married head of household in Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation, Rolette, North Dakota, United States.[11]
