Hannah Balch was the daughter of Thomas Balch and Mary Sumner Balch. She was born in Dedham, Massachusetts Bay on December 10, 1755. Her father was the pastor of South Dedham Church. [1]
On April 22, 1777 Hannah married Rev. Jabez Chickering who had succeeded her father as pastor of South Dedham Church.[1] Hannah and Jabez had six known children, Lucy, Joseph, Jabez Jr., Elizabeth, Thomas and Hannah.
Hannah died on April 17, 1839. [1]
