Benjamin was born in 1743. He was the son of Thomas Balch and Mary Sumner. He was married to Joanna O'Brian. They were the parents of 9 sons and 4 daughters. His occupation as listed as chaplain on the continental frigate He passed away in 1815, at tje age of 72, and was buried in Barrington, Strafford, New Hampshire USA.
