Biography

Jessie Bampton was born on the 23rd August 1856, in Albert Town-Adelaide, Province of South Australia, Australia, the only daughter of George Bampton and his wife Catherine Robertson.^[1]

She married Edward Dickson on the 20th April 1878, in the Church of St Paul, Port Adelaide, officiated by Canon Green,^[2] subsequently having ten known children, two daughters, and eight sons:

Jessie celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1928.

When they reached 50 years of marriage, the family made sure to announce that fact in several newspapers:

DICKSON—BAMPTON.—On the 20th April, 1878, at St. Paul's Church, Port Adelaide, by the late Canon Green, Edward, third son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Dickson, of London to Jessie, the only daughter of the late George and Catherine Bampton. Present address—4 Beaconsfield street, Unley.^[3]

Jessie Dickson née Bampton passed away on the 26th December 1933, in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia, aged 77 years.^[4]
