William Joseph Dickson was born on the 5th July 1886, in Alberton, South Australia, Australia, the son of Edward Dickson and his wife Jessie Bampton.[1]
He married firstly Blanche Bernice Burt on the 10th September 1909, in Sydney, New South Wales.[2]
Blanche having died in 1917, he married secondly Maude Amelia Pearce, twice—firstly on the 21st June 1919, in St John's Church Adelaide,[3] and secondly on the 21st September 1920, in the Registry Office Adelaide.[4] The first time the record states he was 32 years of age, and widowed. The second time the record states he was 34 years of age and divorced.
William Joseph Dickson passed away on the 31st August 1942, in the Parkside Mental Hospital, South Australia, Australia, of lobar pneumonia, and general paralysis of the insane, aged 56 years,[5] and was interred in the Centennial Park Cemetery, Pasadena, where his wife would later also be laid to rest.[6]

DICKSON.— On August 31, William Joseph, the dearly beloved husband of Maud A. Dickson. of 19 Ophir street, Goodwood Park, and late of the Manhattan Cafe, and loving father of Max (A.I.F. abroad), Jean. Bettie (Sydney), Lois. Wilton. and Warwick; aged 56 years. Resting.[7]
