There are alternate names for this person:
Ellis Island record shows he arrived hee Nov 7, 1907 onboard the SS Samland (Red Star Line) and was held there for one day until someone came to pick him up. Apparently he was classified as a "likely public charge -LPC, because he may not have any money.
The name on the handwritten manifest looks like "Feze", which is how it is on the Internet search. Other reserchers think it could have been Icze, Polish spelling for Itche, a version of Yitzchak.
Unlce Alex had said his Zeyda had gone back and forth several times to Poland before Hinda came in 1920. I know that he did return at least once to Poland to attend his son's wedding (my grandfather, Joseph) on June 8, 1911. There is a entry back to the US arriving Ellis Island on January 16, 1913 aboard the SS Finland from Antwerp January 4, 1913. On that trip he used the name Yitzchak Barnett, said he had never been to the US, was to stay with his brother, Chaim Barnett at 193 Division St., (lower east side). He again was held for about a day until someone came to get him.
On March 6, 1929 he filed an Declaration of Intention to become a citizen and followed up with a Petition for Citizenship on June 23, 1931 and took the oath of allegiance on Oct. 1, 1931 At the time he was living at 229 Madison St. Manhattan
birth date of april 1/13, 1884 from Ostrow indexes. Other date of Oct 25, 1884- not sure where it came from?
Per the 1930 US Census, Yitzcak (Isidore) was living with Hinde at 229 Madison St NYC in an apt builing paying /month

He also claimed he arrived here in 1917 which might have indicated another trip after the 1913 one noted above but more likely just an error in est year.
