Note N6Beny appears have used several names. Berish according to his nephew Alex Barnett, which is also the name on his tombstone, Berl( an ickname for Berish) on his ship's manifest and Beny on US documents. His grandson, Joseph said he remembers his grandfather's names as Dov? Dov is Hebrew for bear as is Berish.
Beny entered ellis island and listed his hometown as Ostrowo, and he was to stay with his brother, L. (Lieser?) Barnett at 14 Clinton St. NY Wife as listed as G(?) Bandrymer (handwritting on manifest not clear but must be F for Feida) He was held for a short part of the day until his brother, Yitzchak picked him up. Yitzchak was living at 4 Hester St.NYC
On the manifest he listed occupation as a baker- which I remember and Uncle Alex confirmed- used to be a union baker and Uncle Alex would get him jobs even when he was very old....
