John Banning was Killed in Action during United States Civil War.

John was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1830/31. [1]

When he enlisted, he was 5 feet 10-1/2 inches tall, and had a fair complexion, blue eyes, and brown hair. [2]

On 10 September 1861, he enlisted and was mustered into service as a private in company C of the 91st Pennsylvania Infantry. He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Captain McArthur. He was a private in company C. [3]

He was killed on 3 May 1863 at Chancellorsville, Virginia. On 7 May 1863, he was reported missing in action. He was a private, in company C. [4]
