William was born in about 1820 in Jefferson County, Mississippi.^[1]

William married three times:

1. 1843: Wm G Bolls (23) married Martha Andrews (17), 17 August 1843, Missouri Township, Hempstead, Arkansas, with the permission of her father (not named).^[2][3]
2. 1851: Wm G. Bolls (31) married Mary Ann Bunningham (24), 4 September 1851, Hempstead, Arkansas.^[4]
3. 1870: Elizabeth White^[5]

Research Notes

Probably the H C Bolles who is 7 in 1860^[6] is the Henry C Bowles who is 27 and William's neighbor in the 1880 census.^[8]

The William E Bolles who married Sarah Griffing in 1859 in Jefferson County, Mississippi^[13] appears to be related by way of John C Bolls, who is represented in WikiTree by this profile: John C. Bolls (1745-1831). According to Find a Grave, John is the father of Rev. Wilson Bolls (1771-1813) and William Bolls (1783-1843), respective fathers of William Erwin Bolls (1813-1893) who married Sarah Griffing (1824-1897) and of William Griffing Bolls (this profile).^[14]
