Graham Braddock was born in Cheshire, England.

Graham Braddock was born on 4 May 1919, in East Macclesfield, Cheshire, England,[1][2] he was the son of a wholesale confectioner Jonas and his wife Lillian. he was christened on 24 Jul 1919 in Macclesfield.[3]

Graham Braddock age 11 and is family Jonas, Gladys, Maurice and William migrated to New Zealand in 1930. they departed Liverpool, England on 15th March 1930 and arrived in Sydney, Australia on 15th April 1930,[4] they then departed from Sydney, Australia on 1st May 1930 and arrived in Auckland, New Zealand on 5th May 1930 onboard the RMS Aorangi.[5]

Graham lived on his father's farm, Graham married Vivienne Helen Sutherland on 3 December 1942. they had no children together.[6]
Graham Braddock is an Anzac who served in World War Two.

World War II

Graham started his flying training on 8 Feb 1942 at Levin, he then went off to No. 3 Elementary Flying School on 5 Apr 1943, then-No.1 Service Flying Training School on 13 Jun 1942.

His wings were awarded on 2 Sep 1942 and were promoted to Sergeant on 28 Nov 1942

S.S. Port Victor

Flight Sergeant Graham Braddock age 23, departed from Port of Auckland on 15 Jan 1943 onboard the Steamship Port Victor headed for the United Kingdom.[7]

Airspeed A.S. 10 Oxford
Graham served under the No.14 (Pilot) Advanced Flying Unit that was formed at R.A.F. Station Ossington, Nottinghamshire on the 26th January 1942 from the No. 14 Service Flying Training School. The unit was and remained part of No. 21 Group, and was all about Flying Training Command throughout the war. It was relocated to the R.A.F. Station Banff, Banffshire, Scotland on the 25th May 1943. Graham was a Pilot Instructor for the Flying Training Command. he was killed on 29th August 1943 with Sergeant Aubrey Francis Smith about 17:00hrs. after their Oxford I crashed at Hillside Farm, Barmekin Hill Near Echt 12 Miles West of Aberdeen after carrying out a training exercise, the pilot retraced their course in low cloud and mist with undercarriage down. It is thought that the experienced pilot had misjudged their position and accidentally stilled when confounded suddenly by the hill in front of them.[8][9][10]

The Airspeed A.S. 10 Oxford was the sole aircraft type used by the unit for pilot training, and the other two were the support aircraft's, Avro Anson MK. 1, D.H.60 Moth and Airspeed Horsa MK. 1, Glider.

Grave

Graham was buried in Plot 43, Dyce Old Churchyard, Aberdeen City, Scotland.[11]
