Biography

1776 Project
Thomas Brice performed Patriotic Service in Maryland in the American Revolution.

The birth of Thomas Brice on 15 Aug 1746 is recorded in St. George's Parish in Baltimore County, Maryland. He was the son of James Brice and Mary Johnson and is mentioned in his father's 1765 will to receive a legacy of land.[1]

Revolutionary War

The only FACT: we know where he was when he SIGNED the Bush Declaration, it took place in a "Tavern ...citizens in Harford County, Maryland on March 22, 1775. At that time the county seat was Harford Town, or Bush (so named for its location in the "bush country" as compared to most colonial towns on the waterfront, ..."

  1. 1775, he had to have been at least 18 years if age and older......to be eligible to sigh. So his birth would have been on or after 1757.............. the DOB we have 1746 makes him 29 years old, marriage age at least.
  2. and he was residing in Harford County Maryland.
The Hereditary Order of the Signers of the Bush Declaration This also gives a short BIOGRAPHY on each man.
" parents were James Brice and Mary Johnson. ....grandparents were Samuel Brice and unknown and Thomas Johnson and Alice Bond."
which agrees with what we have but they do not share their sources on the site.
