Dinah was born in Ulverston, Lancashire, England, in 1867.[1] Her birth was registered in the third quarter. She was the daughter of James Brockbank and Dinah Nicholson. She was baptized on October 27, 1867, in Ulverston.[2] She was enumerated in the 1871 [3] and 1881, [4] residing with her family in Ulverston. In 1891, [5] she was listed as a twenty three year old, single "Servant" in the household of James and Annie Ramsden, Barrow in Furness, Lancashire.
Dinah married Thomas Hugh Skellern on April 10, 1897, at the Parish Church in Ulverston.[6] (Note...There is also a Parish Register dated April 10, 1898, in Cumbria with the same participants). [7]The couple would have two children, Arthur, and Harold. Dinah was enumerated in the 1901 [8] and 1911 census [9] residing first in Prestwich, Lancashire, then Congleton, Cheshire.
