Biography

This person was created on 18 January 2011 through the import of barb.GED.

Age 90, of Girard, the oldest son of the late Lloyd C. Bronoel and Blanche Fohner Bronoel Gilmore.

Lloyd was inducted into the US Army in 1943. He served ground combat in the battles of Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe, receiving the Good Conduct Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 5 Bronze stars and the WWII Victory Medal. Following his return from the war he worked at Gunnison Brothers Tannery where he met Irene Vargulich, and they married on September 6, 1947. Later he began his own business, "Lloyd Bronoel Plumbing and Heating." Lloyd retired at the age of 80. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling with the Knights of Columbus League and going to tournaments with his team.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Irene Vargulich Bronoel; a brother Karl Bronoel (d 1/1/2010 age 83); grandchildren, Gary Carlson Jr. and Bobby Carlson.

He is survived by three daughters, Sandra Carlson (Gary), Sharon Noble (Al), Joyce Smith; six grandchildren; a sister, Goldie Herbert; sisters-in-law, Jessie Bronoel and Marilyn Vargulich; great-grandchildren; friends; and also many nieces and nephews.

Burial with full military honors in St. John's Cemetery, Girard.
