John Edward Cartwright was born on May 21, 1893 in Pocahontas, Tazewell, Virginia, United States, son of Thomas Edward Cartwright (1863–1952) and Lou Emma Browning (1861–1953).[1]
He lived in McDowell, West Virginia, United States in 1910[2] and Anawalt, McDowell, West Virginia, United States in 1920.[3]
He registered for military service in 1919.[4][5]
John (30) married Georgia C. Thompson (17) (born in 1906 in Tazewell; daughter of Rufus Walter Thompson and Martha Florence (Brooks) Thompson) in 1924 in Mcdowell, West Virginia, United States.[6]
They had no children.
He died on 20 November 1937, in Wayne, West Virginia, United States, at the age of 44,[7] and was buried in Leckie Cememtery, Leckie, McDowell, West Virginia, United States.[8]
