Mary Cloud was the daughter of Jeremiah Cloud and Judith Henderson.

"Know all men by these presents that whereas Jeremiah Cloud Dec'd late of Sullivan County State of Tennessee died possessed of certain property in which was a certain tract or parcele of land on which the said Cloud died situate in Sullivan County on the south side of the Holstin River opposite Kingsport supposed to contain 300 acres be the same more or less and whereas the said Jeremiah Cloud left several heirs at law Viz. Isaac Cloud, Benjamin Cloud, Sarah Cloud, Mary Cloud, Henderson Cloud, George Cloud, Francis Cloud, Eliza Cloud, Louisiana Cloud, children and heirs of said Jeremiah Cloud dec'd. And whereas the above named Mary Cloud did intermarry with John M. Vaughn and had several children amongst which are Thomas Jefferson Vaughn_____ Be it known and remembered that the said Thomas Jefferson Vaughn son of Mary Cloud Dec'd as aforesaid do Bargain and sell and by these presents doth convey all and singular his Right title claime, interest and demand in and to the said aforementioned tract of land unto Benjamin Cloud for and in consideration of the said Benjamin paying or causing to be paid unto the said Thomas Jefferson Vaughn the Just sum of fifteen dollars the Receipt Whereof is hereby acknowledged hereby warranting and defending the title of the same against himself his Heirs and assigns unto the said Benjamin Cloud his Heirs and all. In Witness Whereof the said Thomas Jefferson Vaughn hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal in the presence of us the subscribing witnesses: signed and sealed this twenty third day of April one thousand eight hundred and thirty two. Definitely some date issues in this profile. Her birthdate is listed as 1781 in Cloud family profiles (fits with her mother born 1748-1758) but not with her own children. FamilySearch shows 1790.

Was listed as born in 1754 when I found this profile. Need more research and sources to see if this is really the right Mary Cloud / John M Vaughn and the real dates. Could also be the wrong John (father-in-law) Auborn-4 00:00, 2 January 2019 (UTC)

Also issues with birthplace (was Tennesee here with 1754). Could be Virginia, North Carolina, Washington County, or Western Territory depending on date and where Jeremiah was at the time. “He married, probably in Virginia, Judith Henderson.. They went to the present Sullivan Co., Tenn. early in 1780 and on 2 Oct. 1783, Jeremiah was granted land for which he had entered a claim, 11 Oct. 1782. (North Carolina Land Grants in TN., File #373, N.C. State Land Office, Raleigh). In 1794, he purchased from Francis Holt, Sr., 300 acres of land on the South Side of the Holston River, Territory South of the Ohio (later Sullivan Co., Tn.)”
