Biography
James was baptised at Holy Trinity Hurstpierpoint on 21 August 1712 as the son of William and Susanna Courtness.[1]
On 29 December 1743 he married Catherine Whitepaine at Newtimber in Sussex -"James, of Hurstpierpoint; and Catherine also of Hurstpierpoint".[2]
James died in August 1754 and was buried at Holy Trinity on 7 August 1754.[3]
