Nicholas was born about 1520, presumably near Stanton Fitzwarren, Wiltshire.
Nicholas was a husbandman and lived in Stanton Fitzwarren. He married firstly, Agnes, and they had at least two children:

- Joan 1546
Nicholas married secondly, Joan, and they had the following children:
- Alice c.1551
- Margaret 1552
- Isabel 1553
- Adam 1555-1604
- Richard 1563
Nicholas Cusse (Cuss) made his will 28 Dec 1586, which mentioned his wife Joane, son Aldame Cusse, daughter Isabel, daughter Alice, sons daughter Susanna Cusse, daughter Margaret Horton, and daughters son Nicholas Pridye.
He gave to Thomas Stacye, Reynold Hatt, Joane Savage,[1] and Goodwyse Tippett 12d. apiece, who were perhaps servants.
He passed away in 1587, when his will was proved.
