Biography

Marguerite (Margaret), a Métis woman, was born at Red River^[1], Rupert's Land circa 1816 to unknown parents.^[2] Gail Morin's research suggests that Marguerite's surname may be Destempt^[3][4].

Marguerite married Baptiste Parisien^[1][2] at Fort Assiniboine on 14 Dec 1841.^{[citation needed]}

At the time of the 1870 census of Manitoba, they were enumerated among other family members at St. Peters.^[2][1]

Marguerite's husband Baptiste received on behalf of the family annuity payments from St. Peter's Band.^{[5][6][7][8][9][10][11]}

She passed away on 20 Nov 1880.^[12] Baptiste was recorded as a widower by 1881.^[11][13]

Interment took place at Saint Peters Anglican Church Cemetery in Saint-Clements, Manitoba.^[12]
