Biography

Mary Ann was born in 1851. She was the daughter of George Elliott and Mary Buckwell.

She was Christened on 23 Mar 1851 at St Mary the Virgin Church, Hastngs, Sussex.

1851 Census Mary Ann (aged only months old) was living at Hartfield, Sussex with her parents George A (49), Mary (35), siblings Thomas (7), Jane (5), Caroline (3), and Martha (1).

1861 Census Mary Ann (aged 10 years) was living at East Grinstead, Sussex with her parents George J (60), Mary (45), children Caroline (13), Martha (11), John (6), and Fanny (2).

1881 Census Mary Ann (aged 30 years) (Lady's Maid) was living at Reynoldston, Glamorganshire, Wales, the household of General Lieutenant Henry Roxly Benson (62) Mary Henrietta Benson (56) and family.

She passed away in 1900 and buried at All Saints Church Churchyard, Crawley Downs, Sussex on 21 April 1900.
