CANTON -- Hubert W. Fairburn, 81, of 250 S. Main St., Apt. 601, died at 2:27 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 1995, at Graham Hospital Extended Care Unit.

Born Dec. 8, 1913, in Canton to Terrance A. and Nellie P. Weaver Fairburn, he married Bernice W. Herrick on March 6, 1937, in Lewistown. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Leonard E. of Dunfermline and William R. of Havana; three brothers, Ernest of Paris, Tenn., Carlos of Canton and Delbert of Ellery; two sisters, Leonea Boyer and Marie Hallam, both of Canton; 12 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. One son, Hubert Wayne; one brother; one sister; one grandchild; and two great- grandchildren preceded him in death.

He was a farmhand in the Canton area for 30 years. He later worked for Parrish Fertilizer. He last worked for Dana Corp. in Havana, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 784. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home. The Rev. John Churchill will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Buckheart Rescue Squad or the Spoon River Hospice Association.
