Biography

Jay was born about 1802 and passed away about 1858

Rev. John "Jay" Whittington Freeman Sr. was born on November 1, 1802, in Rutherford, North Carolina, the child of Rob Freeman and Catherine Seward. He married two times. He married his first wife, Patsey Watkins in Rutherford County, North Carolina on the 3rd of November, 1824[1]; Patsey Watkins passed away in 1845. He then married Mary Surd Morrison. He died on October 1, 1858, in Skenna Gap Road, Blairsville, Union County, Georgia and is buried in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery in Union County, Georgia
