HENRY GILS0N Mr. Henry Gilson. who died at his home at Howlong on Frlday 22nd Ult.,aged 83 years, was a son of the late Edward Gilson and Harriet Chatham Gilson, .of Howlong who. owned several town properties. He was born at Mahonga Station In 1850. Mahonga was then owned by the late Robert Rand. At an enrjy age he went to live with his parents at Howlong,where he helped them and other membera of the family in mixed' farming. The late Mr. Gilson was a maintenance man on theHowlong-Albury -road and district roads for 21 years, when they were under the control of the State Government. He worked under Superintendant B Smythe and North, and at the retiring age Iived on his farm at Howlong. After the death of his wife he lived with his daughter, Mrs Armstrong, up until the time of his death. The funeral took place to the Cathollic portion of the Howlong cemetery on Saturday the service at the grave-side being read by. Father Larklns, of Balldale.
