Frederick, born in 1887, was the son of William Hodgins and Eleanor Ritchie.[1]
He was a career soldier. During World War I, he left for France as a captain with the Divisional Engineers (1st Field Coy). He returned to Canada in 1921 as a lieutenant colonel.[2]
He was appointed Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Canadian Engineers.
He married Rebecca Kathleen Blakeney, daughter of Henry Blakeney and Rebecca Kathleen Lewis, in 1921, they were the parents of one daughter.
He died in 1924 and was buried at Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa.[3]
