  5. From his daughter Letitia's profile: One descendant record shows Letitia's mother as Mary Terry (the other two call her Martha, or Patsey, Knighten). The main entry for Daniel Holladay Jr. shows only that he married Martha Knighton (showing her as first wife), so additional sources are needed. DAR records for descendants of Letitia, daughter of Patriot Ancestor Daniel Holladay, Jr. (accessed 9 October 2019):
Note: The main entries posted to the DAR's database have been verified. I do not believe that the descendant records have. The DAR's file for the application probably has additional information that can be researched at DAR headquarters building in Washington, D.C. or purchased through the DAR-grs database. It may be that wife Martha Knighton was confirmed against records for Daniel Jr.'s son Daniel, who is shown with wife Martha Knighton in Daniel Jr.'s main record (Patriot Ancestor #A056538). However, it was not unusual for children in a blended family to marry a sibling who was the child of a step-parent's previous marriage.
  6. DAR records include only children with a descendant who joined the DAR by providing descent from the Patriot Ancestor through them.
