CHEAP CLOTHING-We beg to call public attention to an advertisement which appears in this day's publication, from Hume and Co., tailors and woollen drapers, Albert House, Pitt Street. The prices are given, and are so low that the contrast between these and the charges of other clothiers, is striking. Mr Hume, the managing partner, is well known to the Australian public as a civil, obliging, and punctual tradesman, and worthy of what increasing patronage he possesses. All, then, who wish for a cheap coat, elegantly made and of good material, should wend their way to Albert House, where, we pledge ourselves, they will not be disappointed.
After the Death of her Husband William Goodridge Hannah married John Hume on the 20th June 1854, they moved in 1856 to Perry St Mudgee, which they operated as a boarding house, which was aimed at children who attended to National School situated across the road, the boarding house was comprised of 16 bedrooms, outhouses and 6 stall stable, and a spare lot (11) next door corner of Perry St & Denison St . In 1875 an advertisement, for the new premises included, school fees, board, laundry and mending for £40 per annum. Research by Janelle Goodridge & Gay Kiskarpati
