Biography

P-51 pilot during WWII; part of the Blue-Nosed Bastards of Bodney. Fought in Operation Bodenplatte at Asch; one of 12 P51's that took off under attack to fight 60-ish German fighter-bombers - shot down 1. The flight shot down 24 German planes, and lost none, and was awarded highest unit citation given to the 8th Army Air Group. 4 air-to-air kills during the war, finished as a Captain.

Partner in brokerage firm in NY City until 1973. Retired and later became New Canaan Police Commissioner, until retiring again to move to Vermont. Hunter and fisherman all his life; president of the Tahawus Club in the Adirondacks. Classmate (and roommate) for 12 years with George H. W. Bush. Wen to Yale for one year before joining the Army Air Force during WWII.
