Biography

Peter Jones II was born about 1670 (based on the ages of his children). He was the son of Peter Jones I[1]. His father is recorded as passing away in 1679[1].

In about 1692/3 he married a woman named Elizabeth (based on the age of their first child). Their eldest child, Rebecca was born in March 1694. They had two more children together before she died sometime in 1700, possibly as a result of complications in the birth of their son, Peter[1].

Peter remarried to Mary Overman and they went on to have at least six children together[1].

Peter Jones II was on the list of tithables taken by James Cole on 30 January 1702 and was Surveyor in 1713. He was chosen as Overseer for the southwest side of the Yoepin Creek on 2 September 1726. He received a grant on 25 September 1726 "on a branch of Yoepin called the Great Swamp" [2]

He passed away in early 1752 based on the fact his will was probated in April of that year[1].
