Biography

The daughter of David Kase and Emeline (Van Vleet) Kase, Mary Kase was born in the village of Lodi, New York^{[citation needed]} in 1856, residing there with her family.^[1][2][3] Mary did not marry, and became the head of the household after her mother's death in 1903. There is no evidence that Mary ever worked outside the home or in farming her father's land; in 1910, she listed "own income" as her means of support.^[4] Her father passed away in 1914 and Mary lived alone after his death.^[5][6] She passed away in Oriskany, New York at the age of 66^[7] and is buried at West Lodi Cemetery.^[8]
