Biography

Ira Edwin Keiter[1] was born on 29 November 1886,[1] in Elizabethville, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania,[1] to Adam Keiter and Mary Barry.[1][2]

On 21 February 1906, he married Katie Estella Gongleff, in Orwin, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. (The marriage license was issued in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.) Ira was a minor, and living in Elizabethtown, Dauphin County. Katie was a housekeeper, and living in Orwin, Schuylkill County. [2] Their children include:

Florence Ellen Keiter (1907-1996)

In 1910, Ira and Katie were living with their children in Porter Township, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. He was a coal miner. [3]

In 1920, Ira and Katie were living with their children in Tremont Borough, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, which they were renting. Ira was a coal miner. [4]

Ira died on 5 September 1964, in Memorial Hospital of Chester County, West Chester, Chester County, Pennsylvania. He died of arteriosclerotic heart disease; he also had bronchial asthma, and pulmonary emphysema. He was a farmer. On 8 September, he was buried in Green Mount Cemetery, West Goshen Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. [1]
