Lieutenant Gilbert Longstreet served with Monmouth County Militia, New Jersey Militia during the American Revolution.

Gilbert Longstreet was born on October 15, 1750 in Freehold, Monmouth, New Jersey, son of Stoffel Longstreet (1712–1783) and Abigaell Woolley (1717–1786).

Gilbert (27) married Helen Hankinson (19) (born on April 10, 1758; daughter of Kenneth Hankinson and Eleanor (Conover) Hankinson) on November 22, 1777 in Monmouth. [1]Their daughter was Eleanor Longstreet (~1776– ).

He served as a First Lieutenant in David in Forman's Regiment, of the Monmouth County Militia during the Revolutionary War. [2] Gilbert died in 1787 in Monmouth, United States, aged 36.
