Biography
Mary Longueville, eldest daughter of Edward Longueville, married her first cousin Sir Edward Longueville Bt; after his death, she married John Lawton (also her cousin) at St Margaret Lothbury, City of London:[1] “John Lawton of Lawton in the Com: of Chesheir woddowar & Marie Longueville of Aspley of Bedford Shiere Widdow was maried September 22: 1719 by Lycence”.[2] She passed away about 1766.
Research Notes
The will of Sir Edward Longueville doesn’t mention any wife, but refers to “my cozen Mary Longueville now living at my House in ffritwell”;[3] possibly they were not legally married, or only married after he had made the will. She was called his widow in later Chancery proceedings.[4]
