Biography

M. E. Moseley wed W. F. Whitley August 10, 1879 in DeKalb County, Georgia.[1]

Mary Whitley was enumerated as wife at Evans, DeKalb County, Georgia for the June 8, United States Census, 1880. She was noted as a housekeeper, born 1860 in Georgia and married as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are self Frank Whitley, son Needison F Whitley, border Mary Mozeley and servant Benj Griffin.[2]

Mary E Whitley was enumerated as wife of the head of household in 92 South Jackson Street, Atlanta city Ward 4, Fulton County, Georgia for the June 14, United States Census, 1900. She was noted as born July 1860 in Georgia and had been married for twenty years. She was the mother of seven children of which three were still living. Also included in the household are head William T Whitley, son Gordon A Whitley and son George P Whitley as seen in an image of the original census.[3]

Mary Mosley was listed as the mother of George Porter Whitley who died October 30, 1943 in Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina. The father was listed as William F. Whitley.[4]
