Biography

Robert was born in 1811. He was Baptized 10 November 1811 as the son of Elizabeth and Edward Newth . Digital Image^[1] and Transcription ^[2]

He married Edith Ogbourne in 1832 ^[3] and ^[4] New Zealand Emigration Register ^[5] has 29 year old Robert (brickmaker) and 31 year old wife Edeth, three sons and one daughter travellling on the ship Will Watch to New Zealand from Gravesend in 1841. They were recommended by C Gilbert who paid for the wife's passage. Also on the same ship were Mark Newth (35 year old Agricultural Labourer), his wife Ann with one son and five daughters. They were also recommended by C Gilbert who paid Ann's passage

He passed away in 1875 age 63 ^[6]

Probate Confirms Robert was a Brickmaker living at Spring Grove, Nelson prior to his death on 30 November 1875.^[7]
