Biography

Conrad Lindsay Niebel, the eldest son of Conrad Niebel and Tilda Lindsay,^[1] was born in Belleville, Essex County, New Jersey on April 10, 1903.^[2][3] In the year leading up to his Aug. 29, 1930 marriage, in Collingwood, Ontario, to stenographer Norma Edith Cameron (1904-1986),^[2][1] he was living in Belleville, NJ with his family, and working as a machinist in a factory.^[4] He was described as a "well-known American aviator" in the announcements of his marriage.^[1]

The couple took up residence in Belleville, NJ,^[3] where Conrad worked as an engraver.^[5] They continued to live in Belleville through the Forties^[6] and into the Fifties,^[7] moving then to Bernardsville, NJ, and then to Milton, NJ about 1970.^[8]

Conrad and Norma had a daughter, Jeanne Ann (Niebel) Craig, born in 1934.^[3][9] Conrad predeceased Norma (who died on Nov. 20, 1986).^[8]
