Biography

Carmen was born 3 March 1821 in Saint Augustine, Florida.^[1] She was the daughter of Miguel Juan Papi and Maria de la Candelaria Peso de Burgo.

She married Joseph Charles Whalton on 3 August 1842 in Saint Augustine in a ceremony performed by C. Rampon, Cath. Pastor.^[2]

Carmen died on 26 November 1891 in Key West, and she is buried there in the Catholic section of Key West Cemetery.^[3]
