According to Laderoute, “La Venture Parisien was one of them wild and untamed, worse than an Indian with different colored feathers in his hair—real savage ways as signs of warfare.”[63] A number of Dease’ men afterwards switched allegiance to the provisional government, possibly Parisien among them.
