1299/1300: Richard de Wyk, mercer, late apprentice of Nicholas Picot, mercer, admitted to the freedom, &c., before the Chamberlain, for that the said Nicholas testified that the said Richard had faithfully served his term, &c. His ingress appears in the paper of apprentices, anno 28 Edward I.[7]

John de Causton was apprentice to Nicholas Picot, Mercer.[8]

Gregory le Moigne de Gowthorp, co. Norfolk, late apprentice of Nicholas Picot, admitted to the freedom, &c., for that the said Nicholas testified that the said Gregory had stood with him as apprentice for five years, and he had released the residue of his term.[9]

According to Beavan[6], the will of Nicholas Picot was enrolled 16 Oct 1312".

Will of Nicholas Picot, Alderman:[1]

Certain rents in the parishes of S. Peter de Cornhill and S. Martin de Oteswiche to be devoted to the maintenance of a chantry in the said church of S. Peter for the benefit of himself, Alice his wife, and their children, and also of John Picot, his father, and Emma, wife of the said John, his mother; the residue of his rents in the said parishes to remain to Nicholas and John his sons. To Hugh de Waltham, clerk, and Juliana, wife of the same, his daughter, his capital mansion with easements in the aforesaid parishes for life. Also to his said sons in tail all his tenements and rents in the parishes of S. Michael de Cornehille and S. Mary de Wolcherchawe; remainder to Juliana his daughter. The said Nicholas and John are to study and attend school donec dictare et versificare sciant racionabiliter. No date.
