Isabel J (Ralls) Hamilton was born on January 29, 1870 in Chester, Illinois, the daughter of Isabella Jane (Hamilton) (Ralls) Fulton (1833–1923) and her 1st husband James McRoberts Ralls ( –1878).

She was married to Martin Matthew Hamilton (1868–1952), the son of Robert Hanna Hamilton and Lucy (Thompson) Hamilton.

Living on Meadowwood Blvd, Nashville, Tennessee, Isabel was 71 years old and married when she passed away at home on November 23, 1940. Burial was two days later in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Nashville.
