Patsy was born on 20 August 1806 in Buncombe Co, NC. She was the daughter of Robert Wright Rea and Agnes Jane (Patton) Rea.^{[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]}

When Patsy was 20 she married David Smith Rea on 24 July 1827 in Madison, Jefferson, Indiana, USA. The couple had one child: John Farmer Rea.^{[8][9][10][11]}

In 1850 Patsy (age about 43) was living in Shelby, Ripley, Indiana.^[12]

In 1860 Patsy (age about 53) was living in Otter Creek, Ripley, Indiana.^[13]
