Joseph Smith married Elizabeth Burnap in Canterbury, Connecticut, on 25 April 1716/17 (sic).[1] The correct marriage date probably was 25 April 1716, as the couple became parents of twin sons on 14 January 1716/17[1] (i.e., New Style date 14 January 1717).
Joseph Smith died in Canterbury, Connecticut, on 5 September 1765.[1]

Hi Ellen ... I did add in Joseph's wife, Elizabeth (Elisabeth) ... don't want to step on your toes and do too many more additions but here's a pointer to Joseph's Family Search Family tree:
Not sure how good the sources will be but lots of siblings and children ... have fun!!
Well, I did look a bit further, for Elixabeth's parents and found them and another profile for her and Joseph ... dang ... so, Smith-238921 and Burnap-215
Every little twig helps build big trees! I would be happy to see you add more people to this family...
These Smiths aren't my blood relatives, but rather are relatives by marriage that I got mildly curious about, then saw opportunities to connect. (Specifically, Joel Smith was the first husband of a 4G grandmother in my paternal grandmother's family, and I realized today that the Ebenezer Smith who married the sister of somebody in my paternal grandfather's lines was from this same family. They are the sons of Mary Jewett who married John Smith.) I have no possessive feelings towards these people.
The Canterbury town records in the Barbour Collection provide a rather solid basis for the marriage of Joseph and Elisabeth, the births of their children, and their deaths. Did you find actual evidence that this Joseph was the one born in Cambridge in 1687? (I get twitchy around FamilySearch pedigrees.)
Oh, yeah, need to be careful with Family Search ... I will propose merges between those folks I mentioned above. So, once that merge happens I'll look at adding siblings and children. Retired and just time on my hands!! :)
