Hi again Joe! You have me scratching my head again. You recently changed the birth year of John Gwaltney (Gwaltney-21) from c1710 to c1659 and changed the profile attached as his father to that of his gr-grandfather. I wanted to let you know that I was reversing those changes. If you believe that Thomas (born 1613) had a son named John, you'll need to create a new profile for him. I apologize that the profile you edited and moved to be son of his gr-grandfather lacked sources. I'm working on remedying that.

Cheers, Liz

Hi cousin! Looks like we're both descendants of Tabitha Hill. I see that you've been editing the profiles of this family. One edit in particular has me scratching my head. Where did "William" come from as a middle name for Sion Hill - now "Sion William Hill (abt.1654-1705)" - attached as Tabitha's father-in-law?

Hi, Joe

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Joe, I was wandering through the branches of our global tree and wound up adding several sources to your late mother's profile and others. In addition to the welcoming greeters like Sheryl, we have written this welcome page for members researching families with Black heritage in the US:

Welcome to WikiTree, Joe!

We are so pleased you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.

Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.

Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.
