Marcellin Sonnier was born on 13 March 1814 in Saint Martinville, St. Martin, Louisiana, United States, son of Jean Baptiste Sonnier and Adelaide LeBlanc.^[1]

He married Marie Azelie Broussard on 21 August 1834 at St. Martinville.^[2]

Marcellin died before 22 November 1886 in Saint Martinville.
